Skipper Port Operations & Master Port Operations Certification
Course Description: Port Operations certificates are open to anyone who wishes to get a qualification to be in charge of vessels within Port Operations limits. This means that a deck hand with no formal qualification or anyone who wants to could register for this program without any pre-requisites. There are 2 certificates:
- Skipper Port Operations Certificate: This allows you to qualify as skipper of a ship of up to 200 tons within port limits
- Master Port Operations Certificate: Allows you to qualify as master of a ship of unlimited tonnage within port operations limits
Duration: 40 Days
Entry Requirements: Consist of, but are not limited to, SAMSA medical certificate, eyesight test, seaman’s book and sea service. English proficiency is a must, with Mathematics and Science at Grade 12 (between 50 and 60%) as beneficial.
Additional Requirements: We include a light lunch with this course.
Accreditation: Accreditation through SAMSA. STCW 78 as amended in 2010 with the Manila amendments.
