FLAGS (Fleet Legislative Alert and Guidance System)

FLAGS, Fleet Legislative Alert and Guidance System, was designed to fill a gap in the South African Maritime industry, with the objective to save lives.  When a Vessel is in good shape and the crew members are all certified, it reduces the risk of accidents and fines ashore and onboard.

Service Objective: FLAGS is an internet-based program that will keep track of all the expiry dates of all your employee certificates. It also provides an update on the tasks performed by each individual.

The  4 Main Components of the FLAGS System

  1. Back-end; which is used to control the Application.
    Create and managing Companies
Create and modifying Vessel and people certificates
Create and modify People Types (Roles on Vessel)
  2. Front-end; which is used by the Client
    Create vessels
    Create SMB
    Create Enter Vessel certificates
    Create People
    Create People certificates
    Run Reports
  3. Audit trailing
All Activity on this System is logged into the database with a record of who did what at what day and what time.
  4. Vessel SMD Compliance and Escalations
The SMD is the most important functionality of the System and should at all times be adhered to.

Once you have all your Vessels and People configured on the System with the correct certificates, the System starts to evaluate Certificate and crew member compliance, based on the SMD configuration baseline that was created in the system.
