Breathing Apparatus Course

Course Description: The BA Training Course (Breathing Apparatus Course) is a short course aimed at both the maritime industry, and industrial factory personnel. This course is to hone your fire team’s skills in the correct care, operations and use of BA sets. Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) forms a vital part of the fire fighters equipment, but the control of people entering fires, safety checks, and breathing time left on each set must be properly controlled and recorded to minimise injuries.

Learning Objectives: Breathing Apparatus Course
The SAMSA matrix prescribes that the learner should have the following knowledge and practical skills at the end of the course:
- Identify when to adopt breathing apparatus
- Demonstrate the importance of effective team work
- Understand the physical restraints of breathing apparatus
- Demonstrate skills when working in heat and smoke
Additional Requirements: The learner should be able to be physically fit and not suffer from any medical conditions. (This course can be strenuous).
Accreditation: Course Completion Certificate. Certificate should be renewed every 5 years.
