Our Port Elizabeth Maritime Training Centre
Sea Safety Training Centre (SSTC) Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth) was established in October 2014 to ensure the development of skills in the marine industry in the Eastern Cape. Our Mandela Bay training centre is equipped with state-of-the-art bridge simulators imported from Norway, thus ensuring training of the highest standard.

This training centre is also fully equipped for all types of workshop training, offering courses in Welding, Pneumatics, Refrigeration, Hydraulics, Sheet metal, Machining and more. Other than the Engineering workshop training SSTC Mandela Bay also offers a wide range of STCW approved ancillary courses. We specialise in Deck and Engineering Certificates of Competency for Master Coastal and Fisherman. We also make every effort to offer affordable solutions for re-validation to the Merchant fleet in the Eastern Cape.
As per our Sea Safety Training mandate; we want to make training available and affordable to all. We therefore endeavour to offer all the ancillary courses under one roof, making it easier for you to get instruction and certification at one training centre.
We are very proud of the quality of training in our ancillary courses such as ENS, GMDSS, LRC, SRC, Communications, Efficient Cook, Able Seafarers, PST, PSSR, FPFF, CMC, MFA, CAFF and many more. All courses are accredited through SAMSA complying with the STCW standard as amended in 2010 (Manila).

Custom designed Safety Management System(s) and the provision of accurate and independent compliance audits can be carried out by our skilled ‘Risk Division‘ to ensure your vessels comply with the highest of safety standards. We also assist with the implementation and training of your Officers, Crew and shore personnel to ensure the implemented systems are maintained.
