Is this for me ?
Entry Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Must be 18 years or older
Interest in culinary careers. No prior experience required.
Please note: Some ships and employers require crew members to be 21 years or older.
Additional Requirements:
ENG1 Medical, basic physical fitness, willingness to work in hot, noisy environments, ability to follow strict hygiene protocols.

What Will My Training Look Like ?

Basic interest helps, but this is a starter package.
Is this just for superyachts?
No. These certificates also qualify you for offshore catering, ferry services, cruise ships and coastal vessel galley roles.
How physical is the work?
Very. Galley work involves standing for long periods, lifting heavy pots, and working in heat. But it’s also one of the most social and rewarding departments.
