ETR – SAMSA STCW Electro-Technical Rating
Course Description: The Electro-Technical Rating (ETR) STCW programme prepares learners to perform electrical, electronic, and control engineering duties at a support level onboard merchant ships. The programme is aligned with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Regulation III/7 and is approved by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA).
Learners gain the knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience required to assist in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of shipboard electrical and electronic equipment under the supervision of an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) or Engineer Officer.
